Personal Overall Rating (based solely on my personal enjoyment): 9/10
*This rating is totally biased and based completely on my personal feelings of the anime. This will often be higher than the technical rating because sometimes I love certain series despite them being kind of bad. My reasons for the higher rating will often be given here or in the GC.
Should You Watch: If you’ve seen the 1st season and have been waiting as long as the rest of us, I’m sure you already have.
General Comments: At last, we got the much desired 2nd season of SnK and I might even agree it was worth the wait. Four years is a long time to wait and I had honestly lost my hype, but after the first few episodes, the series returned to it’s interesting and engaging nature that had me on the edge of my seat. However, this largely occurred due to the significant shift from the main trio of characters vs. titian, to the supporting characters vs. themselves. The lesser developed side characters finally got their time to shine and it was very welcome and needed. Sasha, Christa and Ymir were the three of note that really got some good development after being vastly underused in the first season. I was able to finally care about them personally in this season and understand their actions more. I also felt empathetic to many other support characters, even if they may not be on the same page as the majority of the cast. There were a lot of revelations and unexpected twists in this season, as well as some very great shipping moments that revitalized my enjoyment of the show and has me hyped once again for the next season, which luckily is only a year away, rather than 4. If you were a fan before, you definitely won’t want to miss this next installment in the series.
